Purpose
Help children practice identifying choices that require faithfulness.
Setup
Choose one side of the room as: STAND FIRM
Choose the opposite side as: GIVE IN
Explain:
“I’m going to describe situations. Move to the side that shows what you think you should do.”
Scenario 1
A friend tells you:
“Don’t tell the teacher we broke it. Just say you don’t know what happened.”
What should you do?
Stand Firm: Tell the truth.
Discuss why.
Scenario 2
Your friends are making fun of another child.
They expect you to laugh.
What should you do?
Stand Firm: Don’t join in.
Discuss what kindness might look like.
Scenario 3
You know you’re supposed to pray, but someone says:
“That’s weird. Don’t do that.”
What should you do?
Stand Firm: Continue following God.
Scenario 4
You know the right answer on a test isn’t yours because someone showed it to you.
Everyone else is using it.
What should you do?
Stand Firm: Be honest.
Scenario 5
You tell the truth and now you’re worried you might get in trouble.
Was telling the truth still the right choice?
Yes.
Explain:
“Doing right doesn’t always mean everything immediately becomes easy.”
Connect It to Daniel
Ask:
“What did Daniel do when doing what was right became difficult?”
He stayed faithful to God.
Say:
“Daniel stood firm before he ever entered the lions’ den.”
His courage began with ordinary faithfulness.
